High There, Jenna!

Welcome back to High There, Bud! This week we’re chatting with Jenna, one of our fearless leaders! Jenna is truly the reason this whole thing works. She manages operations at P+L, keeping the books balanced, the weed in stock, and this whole organization compliant. Jenna brings her attention to detail to everything she does and wears her many, many hats with such grace that you’d be forgiven for thinking this cool cucumber is less busy than she actually is. I count my lucky stars every day to have Jenna as my work wife, the Prairie to my Luna, and the brains of this whole operation. Now without further ado, here’s Jenna, telling us all a little bit about herself and her cannabis journey.

1. Share a bit about your cannabis journey. 

My cannabis journey began in my teen years, but it was so hard to get back then! I didn’t have a solid hookup until university when I became a daily cannabis consumer. I’ve always been a fairly anxious guy, so I found it helped a lot with that. Also, it replaced alcohol, which in university I was obviously overindulging in on the weekends. It’s crazy how good you feel once you stay away from alcohol for a while.

So I’ve basically been a daily cannabis consumer for about 10 years now. It felt so right to pursue cannabis as a career path, and when Quinn approached me with the idea of our own cannabis accessory store I was obviously on board! And that evolved into us SELLING weed, which I still CANNOT believe. But I am so so happy that cannabis has led me down this path. 

2. What is your role at P&L and what is one thing you love to chat about with customers?

I’m so proud to be one of the founders/owners of P&L! My role is everything!! You’ll find me budtending Monday-Friday. I also manage general store operations, compliance and budgeting. 

I love to chat with customers about concentrates. I am super interested in how different concentrates are made. I also love to smoke concentrates, of course. I was recently gifted a Bello device and it is the coolest thing ever. 

3. What’s your preferred way to consume cannabis? What’s your current go-to product and why.

My absolute favourite way to consume cannabis is via a bong. It’s a classic, quick way to get high and the water cools the smoke just enough. I also have to mention the Pax 3 dry herb vape - it’s been my go-to lately because it’s too damn cold to smoke outside. 

My current go-to product is the Shine Salve by Earth Kisses Sky. It boasts all-natural ingredients that I find are so necessary for my skin during these winter months. I use it on my face, hands, hair, you name it! 

4. What’s your favourite song right now?

I love anything country, and it’s so hard to pick a favourite! Since I have to choose one I’ll say Rocket Girl by Doc Walker, it’s an older one but has always been a favourite.

5.  What’s your favourite hobby/activity?

Currently, my new favourite activity I’ve picked up is Rollerskating. Can’t do much of it in the winter but I’m looking forward to getting back on my skates in the summer months!

6. And of course, a little tribute to all the P&L furbabies!

I have one little poocher named Bobbi. He also goes by Boober and Boba fett. He’s a 10-year-old Dutch Shepherd who used to be with the Edmonton Police. He failed his police training, lucky for us ahaha. He’s the biggest suck ever and never leaves my side when I’m at home.
