Cannamama Chats with Tiffany

Last week, I asked some of the Mamas on our team to answer a couple of questions for me. It has always felt like a balm to hear other women’s experiences integrating cannabis and motherhood, so I hoped that sharing ours throughout this week might feel like that for some of you.

Our next Cannamama is Tiffany, who was kind enough to answer my questions from the perspective of a long-time stoner and mom of FOUR. Jenna and I are both still in the baby/toddler stage, so we always find it particularly valuable hearing Tiff's experiences with parenting older children and teens, while continuing to care for herself. Keep reading for her wise words on motherhood, weed, and stigma.

How has motherhood changed your relationship with cannabis?

I have been a cannabis enthusiast for awhiiiiile! and being a Mom of 4 kids over the age of 10 has only increased my love for this beneficial plant. Motherhood has helped me appreciate the importance of self-care. I choose to consume cannabis on a daily basis as part of my self-care routine but being a mom, there is a stigma around this. I can’t tell you how many mamas I have connected with over the years who have tucked away this awesome part of who they are for fear of judgement from others.

How has cannabis impacted your experience of motherhood?

Consuming cannabis blankets me with calmness that aids me in being a better mother and overall human. I like to think that cannabis awakens my ability to listen and observe what my children need from me as their mom. Cannabis products on the market today are only getting better and I am so excited to be a part of this budding industry. I want to help other moms out there break free from the stigma that has been built around such a valuable plant and guide them towards the best way to consume cannabis for their unique journey.

Thank you, Tiff, for these beautiful words. I love that cannabis can produce the serenity and presence to really hear our children, rather than reacting from a place of stress. How has cannabis impacted the way you parent older children or teens? I would love to hear about the conversations you have with your big kids because mine just aren't there yet!
