For over 20 years I have enjoyed the benefits of cannabis through smoking joints….lots and LOTS of joints! And recently discovered a new love for concentrates and vapes. The joy of being able to discreetly pull out my pen wherever I am and take a few quick puffs, without having to stress about smelling up the space like a Snoop concert (not that there's anything wrong with it, buuuut not always practical in public spaces or when I’m in professional or mom mode). Also, if it’s just too freaking cold to venture outside for a quick pre-roll, my vape pen comes in VERY handy.
With 100s of vape options currently on the market, it can sometimes seem overwhelming at times deciding which ones to choose. A few months ago I bought a Dosist system and wanted to share my experience with you.
First off, let me say how much I liked the design and concept of this pen. It is small, sleek-looking, and fits conveniently in my pocket or bag. The Dosist pen gives you a precise 2.5mg dosage of distilled cannabis oil each time. Worried that you might be taking in a little too much? No stress! Dosist is time controlled and will vibrate after a 3 second inhale, so you can rest assured that you are getting the exact dose with each activation. It has a built-in feature to shut off after a few seconds of not being in use to prolong your battery's life. I rarely have to charge mine, which is great! The rechargeable pen option offers approx 200 doses (500mg of distillate) per pod.
Let's talk about the pods! The Dosist pod consists of 500mg of distilled cannabis oil and botanical terpenes. They contain no fillers, additives, flavouring, or cutting agents and are 100% plant-based. Dosist believes in transparency and has created a section at the bottom of their website where you can enter your Lot # (found on the back of your packaging) and it will list all lab results from each batch created.

The pod connects to the rechargeable controller (battery) via a custom magnet using 24k gold electrical contacts for a more consistent and reliable seal. It was very easy to assemble and the charger is also magnetic, connecting to the base (bottom) of the battery. It has a fully ceramic vaporization chamber housing a ceramic wick for faster, more efficient saturation. It features a medical-grade stainless steel vaporization coil that generates a more even and precise temperature.
I chose the Calm pod because I love a nice high dose of CBD with my THC. The flavour tasted pretty much like cannabis and the overall experience was quite pleasant. I didn’t feel too cloudy or couch-locked in any way. I am an experienced cannabis user and found 4 doses (10mg of distillate) per session worked perfectly for me. The Dosist calm pod is an effective option when a zen vibe is what I’m looking for, but I still, have to be productive throughout the day. Would I buy a dosist again? Yes! Who would I recommend Dosist to? Anyone looking for a reliable vape system that also wants a precise, low dose alternative with each breath activation.
